General Description

A colorless to white lustrous solid in the form of flakes with a mild distinctive odor. Forms a corrosive solution when mixed with water. 
Moderately toxic by inhalation or ingestion and a skin irritant. 
It is used in the production of alkyd resins for coatings and paints. It is also an important raw material in the manufacture of unsaturated polyester resins and plasticizers.
