Methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane, it is a colorless liquid with a sweet, penetrating, ether-like odor. It has low viscosity and great stability; it is miscible in all proportions with alcohol, ether and chloroform. It is slightly soluble in water, is practically nonflammable and non-explosive.

Used as a solvent and paint remover.
