Blue or emerald-green crystalline material. Becomes blue and opaque at room temperature. Odorless. Sweet astringent taste. Somewhat efflorescent.
Toxic and carcinogenic.
Applications: For the treatment of metallic surfaces, use in the manufacture of batteries, and the manufacture of nickel salt from nickel sulphate.
